PORTFOLIO
No explaination
over 4 weeks in August, I was a production assistant on NO EXPLAINATION for Licklemor Productions. during this time I was responsible for assisting the day-to-day operations of the production. my responsibilities included. purchasing equipment, transportation, and data entry as well as helping the production manager in facilitating the production office, during the course of these 4 weeks I had the opportunity to work closely with the production secretary. and gain more experience in data entry, booking and adhering to sustainability rules.
TO DISAPPEAR SUDDENLY
The most recent project I've had the pleasure of working on was a short independent film called TO DISAPPEAR SUDDENLY, which was written and directed by my good friend Séan McGrail and was produced by Split Second Films, My role was script supervisor much like the last time I worked with Séan on the Create Central opportunity. this was a short filming period of a week, but was incredibly rewarding and an invaluable learning experience for me. I have come to enjoy the process of being a script supervisor and have begun to hone more of these skills for future projects.
Phoenix Rise
As part of the Create Central bootcamp scheme, we were all taken onto a variety of different productions across the West Midlands. I had the privilege of working under script editor Luke Frost on the BBC children's show PHOENIX RISE as well as working closely with Rachel Leahy as coordinator along with the rest of the production team. This was a valuable learning experience for me as it allowed me to look at the process of storytelling, whilst also learning how to work to a deadline and solve problems that will help to reinforce the narrative's credibility.
the future melting pot
I was the Co-Team leader for the podcast department at TFMP, my role was to produce and script several series ideas for an ongoing podcast, in which we discussed current affairs and ongoing socio-political problems that the UK faced. during this time I was in charge of a small team of 8 and would provide support to the rest of the team whether in a technical manner or in script and episode capacity.
The British Soprano
This project was the end product of the Create Central scripted boot camp, in which the other boot campers took on a role and produced a short scene by our lecturer. The scene in question was an adaptation of the opening scene in The Sopranos. My role in the production was to act as script editor, changing the American idioms to fit within the context of a British setting. During the shoot, I took on the responsibilities of a script supervisor. This production is the latest thing I've produced and collaborated on.
Dead Man Walking
My involvement with this project began with the writer Kieran Simmons whom I initially met in school. He approached me about the logistics of the shoot as well as recommendations on local crew, a couple of months later I was then approached again and was asked to assist on the day. During the shoot I was responsible for the lighting rig as well as providing support around the location i would also run the actors home at the end of the shoot.
Could've Been Better
This Project is very important to me, during lockdown I was in the midst of my final year and therefore my final project. This was originally designed to be a 5-minute piece that was studio-bound. However, due to the restrictions of lockdown life, I had to use whoever was available for a crew and call many favours to borrow equipment. Whilst this film is by no means perfect I am extremely proud as it showcases my ability to work under limiting factors, and is the product of months of work. Which is evidenced in the script and production documents.
